Though we love sharing what we’re learning and what we’re doing, there are a few things we believe need to be kept private. This includes your personal details. We promise to respect your personal data as if it was our own and to handle it in a safe and responsible way.
It’s important to us that you enjoy shopping from our website, secure in the knowledge that you can edit or delete your account by logging in here or by contacting us on email@example.com or 0845 653 2060 or +44 (0)1768 778 778.
We will only contact you in order to:
- fulfil your order
- send information you’ve asked to receive from us
- send you our newsletter or promotional information (if you have requested to recieve)
The Information We Collect
The information we gather on our site falls into two categories:
- Personal information you supply when you become a member, place an order, post a review, or opt-in to email newsletters.
- Tracking information collected as you navigate through our site.
Personally identifiable information.
When you order on our site we collect personally identifiable information about you such as your name, mailing address, e-mail address, telephone number. We only use this information to process your order and to contact you with regards to your order. We will ask if you would like to become a registered user when you first order with us. We do this to make it easier for you to checkout on our website in the future, by storing your name and delivery address in a secure account, which can be edited by you when you log-in. You can edit or delete your account by logging in on our website or by contacting us directly.
When you opt-in to receive updates on stories, product launches, Millican events and offers, you will be added to our marketing database.
We will only use the personal details you provide when opting-in, to send marketing email newsletters unless you notify us otherwise. You can notify us of any preference changes and can edit the personal details you initially provided at any time, by clicking ‘Update My Preferences’ in any of the marketing email newsletters you receive from us, or by contacting us directly.
Third Party Data Processors
We’re only a small team here at Millican HQ, so occasionally we have to ask for some help to make sure we are operating as efficiently and responsibly as we can. Because of this, we work with a couple of third-party data processors (for example Shopify, MailChimp) to help manage our website, our orders & payments and our marketing database.
Under the terms of their individual Privacy Policies, our Third-Party data processor’s will not, under any circumstances, contact people on our lists, market to people on our lists, sell our lists, or share our lists with any other party, except as required by law or, regarding contacting, except in response to a complaint or other communication directly from an individual on one of our lists.
The majority of these processes are necessary to complete your order with us and by using our site you agree to these processes. If you would like more information on how your individual personal data is being processed or stored, please contact us directly and we’ll be happy to discuss this with you.
Links to Other Sites
We love sharing stories from across the globe, allowing you to meet the collaborators, story-tellers and ambassadors who shape what we do. If we share a link to another website, we can’t be responsible for how that site will collect your data, so please make sure to check before browsing. We only link with sites we believe in, but we’re not responsible for how they keep things private. That’s their business.
We encourage you to share your adventures with your Millican travel companions across social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Any information, communications, or materials you submit to us via a social media platform is done at your own risk without any expectation of privacy. We cannot control the actions of other users of these platforms or the actions of the platforms themselves. Your interactions with those features and platforms are governed by the privacy policies of the companies that provide them.
