Millican Outdoor Limited will only ever contact you in order to:

- send information you’ve asked to receive from us

Who We Are
Millican Outdoor Limited is responsible for the personal data that you share with us. When we say “Millican”, “us”, “our” or “we”, this is who we are referring to. Millican is the “data controller” for the purposes of applicable data protection laws.
What Is Personal Data?
“Personal data” means any information or pieces of information that could identify you either directly (e.g. your name, email address, phone number) or indirectly (e.g. through pseudonymised data, such as a unique ID number, eg. your IP Address or Cookies).
The Information We Collect
The information we gather on our site falls into two categories:
- Personal identifiable information you supply when you create an account, place an order, post a review, or opt-in to email newsletters.
- Tracking information (or Cookies) collected as you navigate through our site.
Personal Identifiable Information:
When you order on our site we collect personally identifiable information about you such as your name, mailing address, e-mail address, telephone number. We use this information to process your order and to contact you with regards to your order. The legal basis for this process is the performance of a contract, to fulfil your order with us. We will ask if you would like to become a registered user when you first order with us. We do this to make it easier for you to checkout on our website in the future, by storing your name and delivery address in a secure account, which can be edited by you when you log-in. You can edit or delete your account by logging in on our website or by contacting us directly. It is within our legitimate interest as a business to provide you with an easier way to checkout in future.
When you opt-in to receive our newsletter updates you will be added to our email marketing database. On our checkout page we have an opt-out tick box which will add you to our database unless you un-tick the box. We do this as it is within our legitimate interest as a business to keep in touch with you post-purchase. You will be notified by email when you have been added to our database and within this email (and all future emails) there is a clear option for you to unsubscribe should you no longer wish to receive newsletters from us.
If you sign up via our newsletter Pop-Up when entering the website or through our newsletter sign-up box at the footer of our website, you will go through a double-opt in process. This means you will have to verify your email address before you are added to our database and before we can start sending you newsletters, so we have your legal consent to do so. If you do not confirm opt-in, we are unable to send you newsletters or get in touch in any way. Your details are stored to make sure we do not get in touch until you verify your account and will remain there unless you notify us. This is because it is within our legitimate interest as a company to not contact you unless you have confirmed you would like hear from us. These details can be deleted on request.
We won’t take it personally if you decide you no longer want to hear from us and so we have made it easy for you to unsubscribe from within any of our email newsletters or by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Data Erasure Requests:
If you contact us with a data erasure request we will action this within a month of receiving the request. We make a erasure request through Shopify which will take up to 12 weeks to complete (as is Shopify’s standard) and can permanently delete your data from our lists on Klayvio immediately. The process is as follows:
- Delete from Klayvio email marketing list, if data exists here.
- Delete from our Shopify customer list, if data exists here.
- Delete from Klarna, Global-E, Paypal, if data exits here.
Tracking Information + Cookies:
Third Party Data Processors
We’re only a small team here at Millican HQ, so occasionally we have to ask for some help to make sure we are operating as efficiently and responsibly as we can. Because of this, we work with third-party agencies and data processors (including Shopify, Klayvio, Paypal, Global-E and Klarna) to help manage our website, our orders & payments, our distribution, our email database and our marketing. This is within our legitimate interest as a company to offer you the best service when you purchase a product with us, for example to ensure you can pay securely through your preferred payment method.
Under the terms of their individual Privacy Policies, our Third-Party agencies and data processor’s will not, under any circumstances, contact people on our lists, market to people on our lists, sell our lists, or share our lists with any other party, except as required by law or to respond to a complaint or other communication directly from an individual on one of our lists.
In order to offer you Klarna’s payment methods, in the checkout we pass your personal data in the form of contact and order details to Klarna, in order for Klarna to assess whether you qualify for their payment methods and to tailor those payment methods for you. Your personal data transferred is processed in line with Klarna’s own privacy notice.
From time to time we use social media platforms (such as Facebook, Tiktok and Instagram), as well as Google and Bing for advertising purposes, as do our carefully selected agencies mentioned above. This is so we can give you the most relevant experience, tailored to your product interests and shopping history. All of our selected agencies are required to sign a contract that promises the protection of your data during this process.
The majority of these processes are necessary to complete your order with us or so we can provide the most enjoyable and efficient experience whilst you shop. These measures are put in place to minimise the contact we have with you, so you only receive notifications relevant to your personal experience with Millican Outdoor Limited.
