Packing for your trip away can feel like a chore and is arguably one of the least exciting things to do to prepare for your holiday. Along with making sure you have enough room for everything in your suitcase, packing can easily get stressful. However, we’ve shared our top 6 packing tips to make your packing easier, with our favourite ways to save space when packing.

6 Packing Tips For Travelling

1. Make a List

It can be so easy to get carried away and pack items that aren’t necessary for your trip. To prevent this from happening and ensure you only pack what you intend to use, we recommend writing a packing list. This way you can tick off everything on your list while you go but also make sure you’re only packing the items you need.

2. Pack The Largest Items First

Always start with your largest items first. Whether that be your shoes, jumpers, or wash bags, starting off with the bigger items will allow you to squeeze in and fill in the space around your bigger items.

3. Invest in Packing Cubes

Take your packing game to the next level with the help of packing cubes. Not only will they organise your items from toiletries to socks, but they can also help to save space when packing, providing you with more room to play with.

We have a range of packing cubes available, including a packing cube set of three that provides you with three different sizes for you to conveniently organise your items when packing. For example, you can use one packing cube to store your tops, another cube to store bottoms and dresses, with the smallest packing cube keeping your underwear neatly together. What’s more, our packing cubes are made with a single panel of recycled, waterproof polyester so you can make a step toward to living more sustainably.

4. Roll Instead of Fold

We suggest rolling your clothes instead of folding. By rolling your clothes, you’re able to squeeze them into smaller spaces likethe corners or sides of your suitcase so you can take up less space. Although it might be a little more time consuming than folding, you’ll be able to fit more in your bag and help prevent creasing.

5. Be Smart About Your Shoes

One way to instantly kill space is by overpacking shoes. Especially if you’re going on a short trip, limit yourself to a minimum of two shoes, including the ones you choose to travel in. Think smartly about what shoes will be suitable for a all occasions to help provide you with extra capacity for the essentials and avoid adding additional weight to your bag.

6. Choose The Right Luggage

No matter how efficiently you pack, not having the right bag for the length of your trip will make packing more difficult. If you’re looking for a short-haul bag, our Miles The Duffle Bag makes the perfect companion. Not only does this bag feature 40L of capacity, but this duffle bag can also be expanded to provide you with extra volume, so you can pack and travel with ease.
