I've only been home for a week and I already want to go back to California. After a week of being a tourist in most cities, I'd begin to twiddling my thumbs, not in LA. With stunning beaches the length of the city, vast mountain ranges and 500sq. miles of one of the world's most vibrant cities to explore all on the doorstep, I could take months, maybe even years to feel like I've really had a chance to embrace all that LA has to offer.
After a packed week in the city, my travels took me up the coast, driving Big Sur with the sunset (and the kids screamed!) to Monterey, then north for stops in San Jose, San Francisco and our final destination, Yosemite. A spectacle of valleys, mountains, forests and waterfalls, a glimpse into the sublime that stirs the deepest of emotions, just don't feed the bears. What felt like a whistle-stop tour of California took us two weeks. Maybe next time I'll have to stay a bit longer.

With such a variety of locations to take in, I needed to travel prepared, and Miles was the perfect pack for my overnight stays and day trips, all made that much easier by utilising the packing cubes, which now I won't travel without. Never again will my bag feel like a bottomless bundle of clean and dirty clothes that I have to rummage through to find my phone charger! The travel wallet was so handy as well, particularly when navigating airports. To have something secure and large enough to store our passports, boarding passes and cash, that I could just slip in and out of my pocket really took the stress out of navigating all those security checks.
