• Strike a Pose 1st Jun 2012

Just as England are in preparation for the European Championships with a warm-up game against Belgium tomorrow evening, the Home of Millican has also been in preparation mode this week.

Next week we are meeting up with photographer extraodinaire and good friend Moy Williams, for our 2012 photo shoot.  I must admit, it has to be one of the highlights of the calendar year.  We’ve been excited about it for sometime and watching Moy at work is really something.

It just so happens that Moy’s visit has coincided with some photography work we have been doing for the last few days with James from Walker Ellis – the guys behind all our studio photography. On  Tuesday we popped over to Harry’s (of Gladstone Bag fame) just down the road, to shoot all our bags on a model – a good looking model he was too!

For quite some time, we’ve felt we needed to enhance your visit to homeofmillican.com by showing the proportions of all our bags on a person.

As we are not quite big enough to form a five-a-side team here at Millican, the model was either going to be Jorrit, Nicky, Sandra or myself. As with any excutive decision, paper-scissors-stone was the decider.

I got the chance to be the model for the day and Jorrit provided the art direction. I use the terms ‘model’ and ‘art direction’ very loosely. I don’t think we’ll be giving up our day jobs any time soon.

Here’s a sneak peak at the shots James took …

The weather was beautiful and as ever, the surroundings were stunning. We had a great day and managed to get the full range photographed. The images will be added to the website over the next few weeks.

We’d love to get your feedback on the images and whether you prefer the close-up shots or the landscape shot featuring the Brackenrigg wood shed. Please feel free to leave your comments below.

Linda Evangelista (the supermodel) once boasted that she wouldn’t get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day. I don’t think I’m quite there yet …

Not to give too much away, but yesterday we had some fun using a form of time-lapse photography, all shot using an iPhone and an iPad. The front room got transformed into  a photo studio and Jorrit showed off his skills in packing bags.

It’s not only our bags that are multifunctional, our dining room is too!

All will be revealed over the forthcoming weeks…

    Enjoy the Jubilee weekend.
