Go Slow
It’s been a hectic summer. Starting up a business was never going to be less than intense.
But we can’t let time run away with us. That’s not why we traded a 9-9 life in the city for a life of adventure out here.
One of our inspirations in recent years has been the Slow Movement. Carl Honore has trumpeted the merits of taking one’s foot off the gas.
So we reckon it’s a good moment to slow down, take stock, savour the now. And head outdoors.

Bertrand Russell said, “The world is full of magical things patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper”.In an effort to whittle our wits, then, we’re temporarily swapping our desks for the wild blue yonder. We’re off to tramp the fells outside our window.
After all. Don’t they say many writers get their best ideas out walking?
Didn’t Plato and Aristotle do their best work in the olive groves?
Yes, it’s time to check in with our inspiration.
And we’ll be looking forward to sharing thoughts and influences more regularly with you this autumn.
We’d also love to hear about things that you think might add to our pool of inspiration. For us, Millican isn’t a cut-and-dried business. It’s a way of life. A conversation.
