First Photoshoot

How lucky were we ... fantastic weather & light all weekend, perfect for our photoshoot with Moy & Chris.

Combining Moy's amazing photography skills with the landscape around Keswick and the friends who've donated their name to our products proved to be a killer combination - millican's visual handwriting suddenly became clear.

The results will be visible on our website and all our marketing materials very soon. When you see them, you'll hopefully agree we have managed to create a very local and yet contemporary view of Millican's Home ...

Millican coming home

Here goes - the first millican embossed logo to see the light of day on our veg tanned leather patch (well, 70% veg tanned).
Nelly was checking the effect of different temperatures on the depth and legibility of our logo earlier today. I spent time in the bag factory to review the first products ever produced in all the correct materials and colours. What an amazing experience!
It also gave me the chance to see the space they have cleared out to store our organic cotton materials + the special production line ready to produce no's 1-750 in the coming month.
12 Months of working at our dream and nearly there ...

millican's cave "collapsed" ...

With our Somerset mates + two dogs in tow, we wandered into the valley yesterday. Never to miss an opportunity to visit millican's cave, we headed down from Grange only to find this sign on a gate post.

The water has been dripping from the cave roof for many years, but this year it could take it no longer and a rock the size of a small tv had fallen out of the ceiling Until repairs have been made it's apparently not safe to venture in, but it didn't stop us admiring the views.

We checked with the National Trust - they've completed their survey and are expecting the cave to re-open relatively soon after some minor repairs. We'll keep you posted ....
