millican's cave collapse

With our Somerset mates + two dogs in tow, we wandered into the valley yesterday. Never to miss an opportunity to visit millican's cave, we headed down from Grange only to find this sign on a gate post.

The water has been dripping from the cave roof for many years, but this year it could take it no longer and a rock the size of a small tv had fallen out of the ceiling Until repairs have been made it's apparently not safe to venture in, but it didn't stop us admiring the views.

We checked with the National Trust - they've completed their survey and are expecting the cave to re-open relatively soon after some minor repairs. We'll keep you posted ....

Keswick Mountain Festival

Where better to launch Millican than in our home town @ the Keswick Mountain Festival.
Between 13-17 May, we'll be hanging out at KMF's Adventure Base (all being well, with our first range of products) + Millican will be supporting 2 guided walks - Buttermere-Keswick and Green & Great Gable.
Somehow we felt great about getting this sorted today ...
